Icynene Insulation

Since its introduction over 20 years ago, Icynene's success has been impressive and its growth has easily outpaced the industry average.

March&Martin.

Icynene® is a low density soft foam insulation which is sprayed into or onto walls, crawl spaces, attics, ceilings and other surfaces.

Sprayed as a liquid, Icynene® expands to 100 times its volume in seconds to create a superior insulation and air barrier.

Every crevice, crack, electrical box, duct and exterior penetration is effortlessly sealed to reduce energy robbing air leakage. Up to 40% of the total energy lost by your home is the result of air leakage, which is not addressed by insulation R-Value.

The Icynene Insulation System® adheres to all surfaces and remains flexible so that the integrity of the building envelope seal remains intact over time. Icynene® is ideal for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional applications.

Harmful outside air, including pollutants, noise and airborne moisture stays out. Healthy inside air stays in, ensuring a healthier, quieter, energy efficient home. Please click here to see an actual spray foam application Icynene demonstration

Best of all, Icynene's air sealing properties dramatically reduce the likelihood of future liabilities that can result from air leakage accompanying moisture. Please click here to view the Icynene air sealing demonstration

Healthier~ Water based. No CFCs, HCFCs, Formaldehyde or volatile chemicals. Seals out dust, pollens and other allergens from entering the structure. Air sealing minimizes the potential for condensation, molds and mildews.

March&Martin.

Quieter~ Air sealing blocks out airborne noise from entering the structure and eliminates vibration in plumbing run walls.

More Energy Efficient~ 30-50% energy savings versus traditional insulation when used in identical situations.

With energy costs taking such a huge bite out of the monthly budget, its little surprise that energy efficiency is the top consideration among those who are building or remodeling a home, according to a recent survey by the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Research Center and Icynene Inc.

The typical family spents close to $1,500 each year on energy bills, almost half of which covers heating and cooling costs. (Source: Energy Star).

The Icynene® Insulation System is a one step thermal envelope that simplifies the construction process and provides you with a more comfortable and energy efficient building.

Energy costs are typically reduced by 30% to 50%, allowing heating and cooling equipment to be downsized.

A sprayed in place, modified urethane, devoid of formaldehyde, CFCs, and HFCFs, Icynene® Insulation adheres to building components, sealing joints, crevices, and gaps between building materials that allow air infiltration through walls, floors, and ceilings.

It eliminates the need for vapor barrier, building wrap, caulking, and taping, all of which are associated with air tightness detailing when conventional insulation products are used.

March & Martin has the solution to numerous building problems:

  • Freezing pipes and ice damming
  • Sound transmission
  • Humidity and mildew control
  • Cold floors and drafty areas
  • Effective insulation for cathedral ceilings
  • Heat loss in masonry wall and steel stud construction

It should be noted that the Icynene® Insulation System provides a healthier indoor environment.

It is non-toxic, without the harmful emissions that can cause allergic reactions. In fact, Icynene® Insulation is used by the American Lung Association in "Health Homes" in Orlando, Florida, and Des Moines, Iowa. Icynene® complies with BOCA, SBCCI, and the ICBO Uniform Building Codes.

Icynene® brings laboratory performance into the field through a unique combination of material and service ~ a custom installation system with an advanced building material.
